General information
- Short Summary
-
This well-established UK company specialises in the manufacture of high quality and innovative marine paints, covering most applications in the leisure and work boat sector. The products are distributed via chandlery shops and other stockists, as well as direct to customers via online sales.
The company already exports to a number of countries but is keen to grow its distribution network overseas and therefore seeks new partners under a distribution agreement. - Full Description
-
The UK company was first established in 1908 and therefore has 115 years’ experience in the manufacture and supply of marine paints. It is now run by the third generation of the family which founded the business and has become one of the leading brands of marine paints and coatings in the UK.
Its range of innovative and high quality specialist marine and functional paints includes:
• Primers and undercoats
• Other preparation products
• Topcoats
• Anti-fouling paints
• Deck paints
• Varnishes and oils
• Finishes and trims
The company is also able to manufacture products on an “own brand” basis, to meet the demand for custom bespoke products, and operates a technical helpline, designed to help with the correct paint selection and use. It operates to high quality, safety and environmental standards, having achieved accreditation to ISO 9000, 45001 and 14001 international standards.
The marine paints offered by the company are typically stocked by chandlery shops or small boat yards. Some products are also sold via the firm’s website and via a growing network of overseas distributors.
The company wishes to grow its presence abroad and is therefore looking to find new distributors in key European markets. Partners should ideally already be supplying products into the chandlery / small boat yard market and have international experience for cooperation via commercial agreement. - Advantages and Innovations
-
The UK company can offer the following advantages to potential partners:
- The opportunity to work with a long-established company, that has been supplying marine paints for 115 years and is constantly innovating;

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
- Ideal partners would be distributors of products into the leisure marine sector, with a good network of contacts in such outlets at chandleries, small boat yards and other relevant retail outlets. An ability to provide technical advice and support to customers would be an advantage. Partners would be required to collaborate with the export sales manager to develop the local market for the UK company’s products and maintain regular contact.
