Spanish company dedicated to recollect and export Gelidium sesquipedale a red seaweed algae known for its benefits.
This kind of algae grows in limestone zones. It is naturally extracted by the sea, dragging it to the coast where the company starts the recollection, garnetting and packaging, ready to export.
The main difference of the company is the recollection and drying of the algae in an artisanal way, respecting the natural cycles and the characteristics of the algae.
The company only collect the seaweed naturally deposited on the coasts and beaches by the sea in the western part of Cantabria, known for its high quality.
The algae is dried at room temperature, to preserve all their properties until optimal conditions are achieved for later storage.
This kind of red algae, is used in the industry because agar-agar is extracted from it.
Agar-agar is a mixture of polysaccharides used as a thickener in the food industry (E-406), pharmaceutical industry, dentistry and cosmetics industry.
