- The battery pack voltage designed for the electric bikes and kick scooters varies from 36V to 51V based on 18650 and 21700 cells. The battery management systems (BMS) are custom designed with track fuel gauge implemented with Texas Instruments impedance Track™ algorithm for best accuracy of predicted remaining capacity and run-time-to-empty during operation. They include a cell protector with integrated balancing function and protection thresholds and functions based on voltage, current and temperature parameters. They have additional secondary-level protection based on voltage and temperature for enhanced safety. They also include a self control protector fuse to further protect the pack in case of overcurrent or overvoltage and extreme electronic failure. They are additionally designed with extra protection against critical permanent failures that can occur during pack life. Additional logic is implemented in the BMS on a separate microcontroller to handle the battery communication to the system via CAN bus. A sensor with a history data log (with a time stamp) to track the battery pack usage, improve service activity, and protect against false warranty claims is also included.
