Full Description

The Italian micro-brewery established in 2004, grows distich barley in order to produce handcrafted beer. It is the oldest craft brewery in Sicily and one of the first in Italy. In 2017 it was awarded as the best brewery in Sicily. In the last few years it was able to create a short supply chain that helped to achieve greater quality control on the malt and on the raw materials that are used for the production of beer. The company cultivates barley in an environment with optimal soil and climate conditions and grows clean cereals without ycotoxins. The hopped wort is brewed with a direct flame in a handcrafted plant, and top quality malts and hops are used for the production; the beer is then stabilized, re-fermented and matured in the bottle, without undergoing any filtration or pasteurization treatment. The most refined taste beers is obtained thanks to a special, non-standard production processes created by master brewers. This methodology allows to carry out specific technical operations, such as the foaming of proteins, the absence of which would make beers less tasteful.
The company has two lines of production: a classic and a special one. Among the classic beers, it counts a special Ale, a red strong Ale and a dark strong Ale, on the special beers instead, a mpardist Ale, a special grape Ale and an Abbey Ale. Besides, the company obtained for two year in a row (2019, 2020) the Gold Seal at the "European Beer Challenge" in London.

Advantages and Innovations

The brewery has an experience of over 17 years in the production of handcrafted beer and it dedicates with care and attention to both the cultivation of barley and the production of beer, offering a high quality product. Indeed, the direct cultivation and processing of distich barley allow the control of the supply chain which guarantees the origin and traceability of raw materials and ensures the absence of mycotoxins. The method of production allows an average product life of over two years.
In 2020 the company got the Double Gold award to its beer at "European Beer Challenge" in London.
