General information

Short Summary
The client solution revolutionizes reforestation using drone technology and advanced forest analytics, computing optimal tree placement and density for maximum ecosystem benefits. Our end-to-end solution monitors CO2 sequestration, timber value and inventory, ensuring scalable, precise, and cost-effective environmental restoration aligned with global sustainability goals.
Full Description
The client offers a new approach, leveraging state-of-the-art drone technology and bio-engineered projectiles to address the inefficiencies and low survivability rates of traditional reforestation methods. The client envisions a future where reforestation at an unprecedented scale is not just possible but practical, contributing significantly to the creation of new forests, carbon sequestration, and the global fight against climate change. Our mission leverages the latest in artificial intelligence, bio-engineering, and precision drone technology to introduce a rapid deployable, cost-efficient, and scalable solution for planting hundreds of millions of trees. The concept of using aerial platforms for reforestation is not new, yet past and present efforts, including seed dispersal via drones or planes, have not led to substantial outcomes due to technological limitations and poor seed survival rates. The client has created a unique technology that shifts the focus from seeds to seedlings, marking a significant leap in aerial reforestation methods.
Advantages and Innovations
Drones can plant up to 20 times faster than humans, enabling vast tracts of land to be covered in record time. The price of the technique is also a big advantage, making planting trees a much cheaper process than the usual techniques. More than that, the planting can be done following a predefined pattern that can imitate the natural development pattern of a forest, making the growth towards a self-sustained forest more efficient. This nature-like pattern is simulated with specialized software developed in-house, based on the latest research in the field. This is an innovation that will boost the tree planting technology by itself, innovation that is applicable for all techniques of planting, not only aerial planting, going towards self sustained ecosystems.

IPR notes
The aerial planting technique using projectiles that plant seedlings was demonstrated in several tests of planting tens of trees. The software works for simulating the planting of any forest in a natural-like pattern, but it has to be tested for the automated
planting process in the future test campaigns. The goal in 2024 is to reach the stage in which we are able to plant thousands of seedlings in an automated manner following a nature-like multispecies pattern.
