A Czech company that is a university spinoff has designed a special functional bag that eliminates waste of potatoes in households where keeping potatoes fresh is rather a challenge.
The company wished to address overall problem of many households that do not have suitable storage place on hand to keep potatoes fresh while they wish to reduce food waste.
The solution was designed to reflect also ecological aspects like requirement of use of natural substances, essential oils etc.
The product on offer is a functional bag made of jute and other materials for storing potatoes in various quantities, the bags are made for quantities of potatoes ranging from 2,5 kg up to 10 kg. Freshness of potatoes is ensured with designed natural filling of caraway essential oil.
Potatoes in the bag can be stored fresh up to 5 months, depending on room temperature that should be between 18°C and 24°C.
The company is in a process of designing bags for other vegetables. Product has been marketed in the Czech Republic and now they seek for distributors in Europe. - Advantages and Innovations
