General information

Short Summary
The Spanish company offers its technology solutions oriented to dynamic sea drifting objects monitoring and spill impact reduction activities of maritime pollutants , to oil & gas, shipping and marine innovation agents willing to collaborate in innovative products developments based on trayectory forecasting and dynamic ocean modelling, prior to design of interception or collection plannings.Commercial agreements with technological assistance or research cooperatiion agreements are offered.
Full Description
The company born as a spin-off from the Spanish National Research Council''s (CSIC), Institute of Mathematical Sciences ICMAT in Madrid, was founded by researchers working on particle transportation algorithms for better understanding of the movement of objects and materials on sea surface enviroments. Breaking down the way in which oceans are modeled today, they unergone a full new design and develoment cycle, bringing a new ocean dynamics solution platform into reality.

Starting from the licensed CSIC software, the company team has developed a pre-competitive commercial, service as a software, SaaS cloud tool that allows customers to builth their new models easily and higher precision results when compared with commercial tools. Covered technology and product roadmap milestones are:

- API development for an automized communication with the ocean modelling software
- Trajectory plotting in different GIS mapping protocols such as WMS or Google Earth
- First iteration towards user-friendly customer interaction with a first Postman interface
- First successful simulation tests with mobile devices (first time in industry!)

The final SaaS product will fully address client and users needs, being totally customizable. Thanks to the digital automation introduced to most processes, the development and integration of different APIs and the GIS protocols, their modelling tool solution is integrable within third-party ocean monitoring platforms, as a plugin, generating new data models and ameliorated forecasting reports that make potential cost reductions a reality thanks to the new valuable information generated.

The company is looking for European partners willing to implement, customize, co-develop or integrate the SaaS solution in its early version, testing and customizing the solution, providing input for new features and functionalities. Commercial agreements with technological assistance or research cooperatiion agreements are offered
Advantages and Innovations
Sectors as conservative as Oil & Gas and maritime transportation, have began key processes digitization focused in minimizing the environmental impact of their activities recently. However, current ocean modelling solutions are mainly based on old chemical models of hydrocarbon degradation and still fail to accurately predict oil slick movement, diminishing efficiency of spill interceptions.
Currently existing oil spill models are offered to the market through private engineering consultancies under an annual license model. Main clients are public entities that develop local solutions for specific projects with the modelling results provided. The process as it is, is always complex, slow, and generally imprecise, requiring expert technicians to operate the available tools.

The company innovative mathematical algorithm incorporates the latest advances in ocean dynamics facilitating trajectory patterns on ocean surface understanding and allows to predict not only the movement of oil, but also other types of floating particles such as plastics, algae, and even people adrift in rescue situations. Competitive advantages are:

* Speed. It can predict the evolution of any object in less than five minutes, making simulations up to 20 times faster than the competitionk.
* Accuracy: Results precisionhas been tested and published by the licensors's CSIC for several real success cases, greatly improving the predictions of the solutions used.

* Convenient: offered under a SaaS model, and with a cloud architectur, making it accesible from anywhere in the world.
* Usable: It quickly downloads results through an intuitive and visual tool.

All these advantages, translated to optimizing efforts for spill collection strategies design and implementation will reduce drastically the environmental and socio-economic impact of spills with and estimated 20% reduction in the hydrocarbon collection costs, and estimated total savings of 50% for an average-sized spill (23M$).
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
The company is looking for international partners for further system developments, collaboration through testing and validations in real-life scenarios in the blue economy sector is a priority. Experienced innovators with oil&gas or maritime transportation experience, willing to collaborate in projects to implement, develop and built new features to ocean modelling solutions to complete a broader value proposition like the ones offered by the European Commission.
