Short Summary
The Serbian company developed and patented a sharp-edge isotopic methodology which is capable to determine botanical origin of raw material used for food and beverages production, as well sugar and/or water addition to wine, honey, fruit juices/concentrates, strong spirits etc. This innovative isotopic method was accepted by the OIV (International Organization of Vine and Wine) as a new approach to detect an adulteration of wine. It looks for partners through outsourcing or commercial agreement.
Full Description
The Serbian innovative company is a private laboratory which was established in 2021 by two Serbian co-founders. The company is specialized in the field of authentication and geographical identification of food stuff from plant origin as wine, strong spirits, honey, fruit juices/concentrates and others using innovative isotopic methodologies and conventional methods of analysis.
It has developed a new isotopic method for analysis of wine, grape must, honey, fruit juices/concentrates and alcoholic beverages to detect illegal production practices, determine of geographical origin and recognize an authentic raw material used in wine making and alcoholic beverages sectors, sugar/confectionery, honey production as well as fruit juices industries. This method was presented by CEO in the OIV in March 2021 and it was supported by other country-members as a draft for new International resolution for wine and grape juice authenticity.
The company offers an authenticity programms to test food products and alcoholic beverages in a modern well-equipped laboratory facility in Pančevo (Serbia) for local and international clients as producers, distributors, private and state laboratories, food associations, consumer protection organizations etc.
The main advantages: a short turnover time of service (up to 9 days), precise results with an expert interpretation of the results, a price of isotopic analysis is less by 30% in comparison with other laboratories, using innovative methodologies to uncover conterfeit products on molecular level of its components.
The team members are dipl. engineers and PhDs in the field of a food and alcoholic beverages technologies with more than 17 years of experience in a quality control system and authenticity of food stuff.
The company takes part as the industrial partner in research and innovation staff exchange project (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions) on the period of 2021-2024. In the framework of this project the company has been building a strong connection with academic, SMEs partners and producers from Turkey, Poland, Germany, Pakistan, UK, Chile, SA and others. The laboratory is a part of an industrial community of OENOVITI network as well.
At this stage the company has scientific cooperation with 5 specialized isotope laboratories in the world: USA, Austria, Hungary, China and Russia in which they finished a validation studies of their innovative method and comparison studies with the NMR technique.
The company has developed new applications for its isotopic method which could apply to another category of food products (e.g. strong spirits and dairy products).
This innovative method has proven to be much faster (time of measurement approx. 7 min per sample) and significantly more accurate (easy to correctly interpret results) than the existing method used for wine authenticity testing. This innovation is able to provide a unique “Isotopic Fingerprint” of strong spirits as well, which is impossible to replicate.

The company is interested in:
Outsourcing agreement: The company offers to perform different kind of programms in their laboratory facility in Serbia using the innovative and conventional methodologies depending of a client’s request. They are ready to sign an outsourcing contract with another interested parties (e.g. private/reference laboratories or centre, producers, retail groups, consumer protection organization, etc.) in which would be define obligations of each party. This kind of agreement would be the most convenient way to connect industrial partner needs with the service-provider.
Commercial agreement: The company is looking an agent on a long-term cooperation basis to represent and sell their laboratory services to a third interested parties based on commission from each obtained client. The company will provide a list of their services (analytical programms) with their definitions, an information about a type potential client and their contact details.

• Possibility to specify a geographical origin of food products/beverages.
• The company could create an isotopic database for authentic client’s samples (batch and/or unique samples).
• The developed isotopic methodology is unique method which is capable to determinate a presence of sugars from C3-/C4-plant origin and exactly differentiate between sugars of C3- based industrial plants as well as it could detect an addition of water in final product (e.g. wine) on different production stages.
• The turnover time of its analytical services is max. 8-9 days in the comparison with other EU laboratories – more than 4 weeks.
• The method is patented worldwide and validated in the well-known isotopic accredited centers and laboratories in Austria, China, Hungary, USA, Russia, Serbia.
• Other laboratories could provide only results of some very expensive analytical tests without an interpretation of the results.

Role: In outsourcing, it is expected from a partner to deliver the number of food samples with an indication what type of analytical programms would be done by the laboratory. All relevant information would be agreed between stakeholders in a signed outsourcing contract.
On the base of a commercial agreement with an agent the company expect to obtain samples of food stuff/beverages thanks to an expanded customer network. Preferably that the agent has an experience in sales of services and technological/medical/chemistry education degree.
