- Full Description
- Fundamental and applicative works of the Institute are focused on multidisciplinary, advanced research on obtaining, processing and innovative use of natural fibrous and herbal raw materials. R&D works conducted by the company may be also a response to demands of agriculture, energy and bio-economy sector as well as the security and national defence systems. The scientists are actively taking part in developing methods of the production of advanced, high-quality materials that are environmentally friendly, e.g. biopolymers. Modern technologies used for the production of functional textiles from natural fibers, combined with advanced nanotechnology, give us a flexibility in adapting the bioactivity of the product to the needs of the recipient. The innovative technological solutions are protected by intellectual property rights. Some of these solutions become the core cooperation area between the Institute and industrial partners. The scope of works and implemented projects have potential for the development of cooperation in the field of health, safety and wellbeing of human as well as national defence, while the principles of sustainable development and the circular economy are maintained in the same time. The Institute is active in the field of IPs’ commercialization mainly by Polish Hemp Program (PHP). Polish Hemp Program was launched for the implementation of the industrial hemp varieties, technologies and products - developed and implemented at the Institute. The Institute plays a crucial role in hemp research, growing and processing in Poland. It has been working with hemp for 90 years. The research institute is a producer of high quality industrial hemp sowing seeds. Provides professional support in quality control and scientific advice. The Institute owns the rights to several industrial hemp varieties for example Bialobrzeskie, Tygra, Henola which are highly rated by experts and farmers from many countries around the globe.
