[Series] IPforBusiness: from idea to commercialisation - various dates. The European Patent Academy together with the European IP Helpdesk is organising a training series on the commercialisation of Intellectual Property by looking closely at SME case studies. The first training takes place on 2 September in Oslo (Norway).
Funds available
EIB Group and Česká spořitelna team up to support businesses. The European Investment Bank, the European Investment Fund and Česká spořitelna (ČS) are channeling €306 million of new financing into small and medium-sized businesses in Czechia. The agreement will help about 250 companies and support nearly 43,000 jobs across the country.
EU policies for better business
European Commission fines US chipmaker Qualcomm for engaging in predatory pricing. Last week, the European Commission fined Qualcomm €242 million for abusing its market dominance in 3G baseband chipsets. Qualcomm sold below cost, with the aim of forcing its competitor Icera out of the market. This is illegal under EU antitrust rules.
