A small business in the north of Portugal, Last2Ticket is disrupting the event management industry in Europe and Asia. Their unique software offers an all-in-one solution for other small companies to seamlessly manage registration, e-ticketing and promotion of events. We talked to Emília Simões, the CEO and founder, about growing her business and how to stay ahead of the curve.
How did you get the idea for your business?
The idea came to me while I was studying for my MBA and I was challenged to define and develop a business idea. The business idea developed into a business plan, which developed into Last2Ticket. The initial ideas have stayed with me and continue to motivate me to build and grow this business.
What are the challenges for a woman entrepreneur in this sector?
For me, the biggest challenges in this sector are the same for all entrepreneurs regardless of gender: being able to build a business with a Unique Selling Point, a strong team and a company culture. Responding to these challenges is tough, rewarding and hard to resist!
How do you see this sector developing in the coming years?
I see this sector becoming more diverse, more mature and more competitive. That’s why I’m focusing all my energy on building a culture of creation and innovation within Last2Ticket so that we can go from strength to strength and stay ahead of the curve.
