General information

Short Summary
An Italian SME is looking for partners to distribute their SCORM-compliant eLearning authoring tool in other European Countries. The tool is a Cloud-based SaaS that allows to manage complex projects in eLearning content development, to create cartoons, interactive 3D models, simulations and many other types of content both for hard and soft skills training.
Full Description
An Italian SME is looking for partners to distribute their SCORM-compliant eLearning authoring tool in other European Countries.

The SaaS was initially designed to facilitate the social inclusion of citizens and funded by the EU FI-WARE / FI-ADOPT program, and then developed as part of a powerful set of tools, all Cloud-based, which follows the training process from content creation to final delivery.

In particular, the authoring tool allows you to design SCORM-compliant eLearning modules, multilanguage and interactive, exploiting many learning strategies such as micro-learning, gamification, event handling, adaptive learning.

The authoring system comprehends a storyboard manager and a bug tracker system to make the design and quality assurance process easier to manage, even in a collaborative way. It allows users to create different projects, assign them to different teams of developers and add multiple lessons.

Content can be designed as a single-module lesson or a multi-module one. Each element and lesson has its own versioning panel, with the possibility to restore previous versions at any moment.

For the actual editing and development phase, the platform allows the use of different kinds of media - video, audio files (synthetic ones can be created with the platform itself), images, 3D models, quizzes. Each element can be customised through the settings panel, using the available presets or creating new ones.

The platform integrates a smart-asset management as well, allowing the user to dynamically modify elements of a properly set .svg picture or 3D models via JavaScript by means of a simplified graphic interface, with little to no coding skills required.
Images and resources are organised in an internal online library, allowing them to be linked across multiple projects and be simultaneously updated in every instance once the original resource is overwritten.

In addition to the ones available, more features and behaviours for specific elements can be defined using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript coding. This enables developers to create completely tailored content.

The authoring tool is Cloud-base and accessible using any desktop device, but can also be installed upon request.
Training is always offered with any licences and consultancy packages can be added if needed.
It is already on the Italian market and has been successfully used also in other countries for the development of content for pilot and maintenance training, cybersecurity training, software training, general professional skills training and many others.

The company is looking for local partners, either software houses or eLearning specialists, to distribute the tool in other European Countries, becoming the touch point for local clients.
Advantages and Innovations
- The authoring tool is available in two configurations: “easy” for non professional users and “pro” for professionals. They can also be used in conjunction, to allow different members of the project team to access content in more ways according to their needs and skills.

- The tool allows many people to work on one project with different roles. Every update of elements and lessons is saved with the information about the user who worked on it, to track any change and be able to roll back to previous versions if needed.

- The integrated editor allows users to add elements and actions without coding, for example to create adaptive paths and add hotspots. It is possible to add more functionalities and completely customise content.
This feature is particularly useful when using 3D models: using this authoring tool, you don’t need any external tool to create interactive content. 3D elements can be imported and elaborated into the platform, to become part of the lesson adding hotspots, highlights and interactions.

- In the quality assurance phase, the integrated bug tracker system allows the team to manage errors found in the various stages of development to catalogue, assign and keep track of them. Until each critical bug has been solved, lessons cannot be downloaded to ensure the best quality of the SCORM file.
