European IPR Helpdesk Annual Event: Digital Transformation - IP and Blockchain Technologies – 12 December, Brussels (BE). Participants will engage in discussions about the role of IP with regard to latest technology trends in the field of Blockchain.
Funds available
Austrian small and medium businesses get access to fresh funding to innovate. The European Investment Bank Group and the Austrian promotional bank Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) have agreed to extend an existing guarantee by up to EUR 48 million, bringing it to up to EUR 96 million, in order to support an additional 150 innovative small and medium businesses in the country.

European Commission publishes annual report on SME performance at occasion of major SME assembly. The report shows clearly that the strong recovery of European small businesses continues and their contribution to growth in value added and employment is higher than expected.
Single Market: European Commission welcomes agreement on proposal to facilitate free movement of products. Last week, a provisional agreement on the Regulation on the Mutual Recognition of Goods was by the European Parliament and Council. The new rules proposed by the Commission in December 2017 will now improve the way the mutual recognition principle works in practice and make it easier for companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to sell their products across Europe.

Diatomic EU: applications open until 31 January for funds and advice. Small businesses, start-ups and Competence Centers in the microelectronics industry can apply to receive up to EUR 200,000 (equity-free!) for application experiment and acceleration services.
Open the doors of your business on EU Industry Day! The European Commission is looking for industrial companies across Europe to participate in the EU Industry Day 2019 Open Doors initiative. The aim is to provide the public and especially young people, a chance to learn about the vital role EU industry plays through workshops and guided tours.
