.EU domain live talks

With more than 3,5 million domain names, .EU is the world’s 6th most popular country code domain extension. The benefits for SMEs using such domain are massive, as it provides a better brand protection, a greater online presence and market reach.

On behalf of the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), EURid has started live talks, a new digital format that offers you and your clients useful information on the .EU domain.

What are the benefits of the pan-European domain?

EURid manages the .EU top-level domain, as well as the .ею (Cyrillic script) and .ευ (Greek script). These can provide small businesses with:

  • Improved branding potential, visibility and outreach, not only within the host country, but also within the entire European Union
  • Greater flexibility: .EU allows SMEs to choose a domain name that contains characters from any official EU language script
  • Increased consumer trust: .EU indicates that your client is based in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and is, therefore, subject to EU laws and trading standards
  • Better geo-targeting when compared to a .COM

Latest and next appointments

The live talk on "Taking your business online" - shed light on getting your clients’ online business started by giving advice on how to choose the right extension and domain name, how to design a website and how to create engaging content.

The next appointments will focus on topics such as cyber security, intellectual property rights, brand management and much more.

The live talks are recorded, so do not worry if you missed them.

Stay tuned: the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROWTH), DG CONNECT and EURid will organise a dedicated workshop on the .EU domain in the upcoming period. Details will follow later in due time.
