Unlocking Net Zero Potential Through Innovation & Collaboration

This event is aimed at organisations operating in the sectors of Infrastructure, Energy or Education/Future skills, seeking to broaden their knowledge and understanding of where the wider opportunities exist. In addition, companies will have the opportunity to establish new international connections and potential collaborative partners seeking opportunities to innovate and internationalise their products and services in the Net Zero/Green Energy space.

The Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (NZIIC) was set up by partners Teesside University and TWI to be a hub for industrial decarbonisation, with the aim of being a centre of excellence for net zero technologies. NZIIC draws on Teesside University's expertise in clean energy and sustainability, which previously saw the launch of two earlier centres dedicated to this ongoing work; the Circular Economy and Recycling Innovation Centre, and the Industrial Decarbonisation and Hydrogen Innovation Centre, both also set up in partnership with TWI.

The Unlocking Net Zero Potential through Innovation & Collaboration event will see speakers from the Combined Authority including Mayor of the Tees Valley, Ben Houchen, various businesses in the Green Energy/Net zero Sectors, plus leaders from the Education and Skills sector and more, giving talks on the themes of: infrastructure, carbon capture, blue & green hydrogen, destination net zero, decarbonisation and Net Zero skill requirements, recycling, the circular economy, plus more– and what organisations are doing with innovation to support the target of reaching net zero.

The event will enable delegates to understand what the Tees Valley are doing in the Net Zero space, plus provide opportunities for business, project collaboration and plenty of time for questions & networking.

Delegates can explore the brand new NZIIC facilities, a purpose-built facility based on the Tees Advanced Manufacturing Park (Tees AMP,) in Middlesbrough.

Following the presentations, the delegates will be given a tour of surrounding supporting businesses including a tour of UK's biggest Freeport, the SEAH Monopile Offshore wind quay, Teesworks (Carbon Capture and Hydrogen facilities) & NEPIC (Wilton International Site)
